Bug Tracker
Macecraft Software's Bug Tracking system allows everyone to see what kind of bugs are found from our products, and of course, you can also report new bugs. A bug means a defect or an error in the product. Report a new bug here.
Note: The Bug Tracker system was launched on the 1st of May 2009, we are still changing our procedures in order to fully use it. Therefore the current display of bugs and fixed bugs does not yet give you the most accurate picture of all the bugs and fixes.
Note: The following figures represent the number of received bug reports, not the number of bugs. For example, if two users have reported the same bug it will be counted twice in the following figures.

Classification of Bugs
We use the following definitions to define the severity of bugs.
-
Critical - A bug that can cause damage to user's computer in that extent that it's possible the user must
re-install Windows in order to recover. The bug must occur automatically, that is, without any interaction from the user. Or, after
the user making an action that should not make any critical changes to the system.
For example, if simply running the Registry Cleaner (i.e. without clicking the Delete button) would cause damage to the system, this would be classified as a critical bug. Or, if the user runs the Registry Cleaner, selects items, clickd Delete and critical system entries not selected by the user are deleted or modified. -
Serious - A bug that can cause damage to user's computer but only via a direct and clear action by the user.
For example, if the Registry Cleaner would list a non-invalid, important registry keys as errors, this would be classified as a serious bug. -
Normal - A bug that can, at least in theory, cause damage to user's computer with
action by user, or if some feature works with clearly reduced performance under certain
conditions, or if some feature of the program does not work at all.
For example, if the Registry Cleaner would list a non-invalid but non-critical registry keys as errors. Or, if the user uses the File Finder and the results contain critical system files, the prodcut should always warn the user against removing or modifying these system files, if the program fails to show such warning it's a bug. Or, if the Registry Cleaner takes over 10 minutes to run under a certain Windows setup. Or, if under some systems the Registry Cleaner doesn't start at all when user clicks the Start button. All of these issues would be classified as normal severity bugs. -
Minor - A bug that on all systems causes inconvenience to the user, but does not
make any features fully unusable.
For example, if the Quick Tutorial's Language selection would remain empty even if translations do exist. This would be classified as minor bug if the Language menu in the main window works, if also the Language menu wouldn't work, it would be classified as a normal bug because it would make the feature (language selection) fully unusable. -
Cosmetic - A bug that causes inconvenience to the user only on some systems,
or very minor inconvenience on all systems.
For example, typos are classified as cosmetic issues. Or, if under certain system configuration the main window flickers when moving the mouse cursor over it.
