The Registry Compactor allows you to easily reduce the size of your registry without actually modifying the data in it. This is done basically by reconstructing the entire registry structure from scratch. You thus eliminate all the empty spaces and the other unneeded data from the registry structure.

As the registry is usually stored in its entirety into the RAM, this will lead to a faster and more responsive computer. The ability to backup any change also makes this feature very safe to use.

The registry compaction is also called "registry compression" or "registry defrag". Both these terms refer to the same process.
